New Weeroona Chapel Gathering Area
Bunorong Memorial Park will soon cater for even larger services with
the addition of the new Weeroona Chapel Gathering Area. As construction
of the facilities nears completion, we are excited to share the much
anticipated features with you.
The new Gathering Area was conceived through Bunurong
Memorial Park's ongoing endeavour to respond to community needs. Client
feedback demonstrated a need for an indoor area where people can gather
prior to services to offer condolences to family and friends of the
deceased. A suitable area was also needed to support memorial
attendance overflow.
The Weeroona Chapel - aboriginal for "Resting Place" - previously
held 150 people, with limited space for overflow. When the chapel was
full, mourners congregated away from the service, in the lounge. With
the new adjacent indoor Gathering Area, the Weeroona Chapel now easily
caters for 400 people.
With three large plasma screens and sound system linking the chapel
and the Gathering Area, guests in the Gathering Area will not miss out
on a moment of the memorial service. Our new computer Information
Centre located in the Gathering Area also provides guests with the
facility to look up information on their loved ones. Linked to the
Bunurong website, this terminal allows guests to browse information
such as deceased names, memorials and plot location. Bunurong Memorial
Park is committed to providing clients with current technologies
designed to enhance their memorial occasion.
When even closer vehicle access is required, a new porta cochere
behind the Gathering Area addresses this need. This drive-up porch
provides protection for funeral directors unloading in inclement
weather. The rear entrance also allows family and friends of the
deceased to walk privately into the chapel for a private viewing, or
meet mourners in the Gathering Area before the service.
We are certain that the new Weeroona Chapel additions will benefit
you and your clients with seamless, comfortable and personal memorial
occasions.
Please note the following changes for users of Weeroona Chapel: Only
oil-filled candle holders to be used in the Chapel (regrettably, wax
candles are no longer permitted). To enable the smooth co-ordination of
the Chapel, burial and lounge facilities, all funeral details are now
required at the time of booking. Thank you for your co-operation and
